New Gemstone Earrings

This earring design is new to my Etsy shop!  Hand swirled sterling silver wire with a generous gemstone dangle to beautifully frame your face!  These are currently available in Canadian Jade, Angelite, Amethyst, Pink Opal, and Black Labradorite.

A friend of mine is hosting a holiday open house in her shop, (more on that later), and invited me to display my jewelry.  I wanted to create something new, yet in keeping with my wrapped bead look.  Playing around, this is what I came up with.  I love the look so much, I couldn't wait to get some in my Etsy shop!

BTW:  My favorite are the black labradorite earrings.  The black and silvery beads resemble a full moon, and have a dramatic feel wrapped in sterling silver!

My Latest Obsession

Lately, I friend of mine has been calling me, waking me up really early, to go to yard sales and estate sales.  This is something I've really never done.  Well, I've done yard sales many years ago when I was looking to outfit my first apartment.  Estate sales are new to me.  So, of course I've got my eye out for treasures to well, create new Treasures!   I've made a couple good scores, but I think this is may favorite!  Come see my new obsession!  I have so much fun sorting through the thousands of buttons I've found!

New Tourmaline Earrings!

I've finally done it...I have been wanting tourmaline for ages, finally bought it.  Then it sat.  For months.
These are one pair of earrings I've made, and listed them in my Etsy shop.  I hope you like them!

A little bit about tourmaline:  Tourmaline is found in a rainbow of colors.  Ancient legends say tourmaline has traveled along a rainbow picking up all the colors.

Ahhhh, Spring!

Thank goodness Spring has finally arrived!  Along with this spring, we've got a lot of wind, really a lot of wind, and rain.  I try to get out for a little stroll while the weather is nice.  I found these on the first day of Spring.

There still isn't much green here in Eastern PA...as evidenced by my after Easter dinner walk with my nephew...

These treasures were found around my parents' property...a single clump of daffodils, johnny jump ups, and lots of deer tracks!  I love strolling around their property at the edge of the woods various times of the year, just to see what's sprouting!

What's up for today?  Since we are probably looking at rain for the next 3 days, I thought I would take a little walk at my local State Park,  see if there is access to my favorite little corner!  When I get back, I need to work on some new Treasures for some upcoming craft shows!  Two shows in 2 weeks!  I'm gonna be busy, so I'd better do my communing with nature while I can!  I'm hoping to be able to take my Birkies off and absorb some of Earth's energy!

Pink Tourmaline

Pretty, sparkly, and rustic cut pink tourmaline stones are simply wrapped onto sterling silver. Delicate, simple, and rustic. 

I've designed these earrings by forming a frame with sterling silver wire, and simply wrapping an oval pink tourmaline stone to it. A little decorative swirl adds the finishing touch! These natural tourmaline stones are oval in shape, with varying shades of pink throughout the stones. They have their own sparkle! These pink tourmaline earrings dangle gracefully from handmade sterling silver ear wires.

These earrings are 1-1/2 inches in length, and 1/2 inch wide.

A little bit about tourmaline: Pink tourmaline is the birthstone for October. Tourmaline is thought to aid in understanding oneself and others; promoting self confidence and eliminating fears.

Aquamarine is Back at Pixe's Treasure Chest!



Aquamarine Copper Illusion Earrings


At the Berks Bead Bazaar, I scored some really pretty aquamarine round and oval beads.  I currently am offering these pretty aquamarine and copper Illusion Earrings for sale in my Etsy shop! Sterling silver coming soon!
Aquamarine is such a pretty shade of blue, and is the March's birthstone!

What makes these Illusion Earrings so special?  I design these earrings using one length of wire, so there is no extra tugging on the earlobe.  This is important to those of us, shall I say, have more mature ear piercings.  These really are the most comfortable earring you can wear!

Petite Picture Jasper Studs

Today, while I was working on my to-do list, one of the tasks at hand was organizing around the house.  I came across these little gems!  They are generally popular at art/craft shows, many people tell me brown earrings are difficult to find!

I think these may be the last pair I have, so I listed them in my Etsy shop!

I've wrapped 4mm picture jasper beads with sterling silver, and finished them with a swirl. These stud earrings are 5-6 mm in diameter. These earrings are tiny! 
I find picture jasper to be a fascinating stone...there are bands of varying shades of brown and tan throughout the stone. Picture jasper is actually petrified mud, and no two stones are the same!

The Ties that Bind

Over two years ago,  I decided to start selling my jewelry at a local farmer's market.  And, I do sell some jewelry, mostly custom orders, which I think is pretty cool!  However, I got a bit more than I bargained for...some new friends.  Not just fellow vendors, but customers, and some "regulars" at the market.  They stop by my stand every week to say hello and chat a bit.  They've let me in their lives.  They share happy news, and sometimes sad news.  Lately I've been giving lots of hugs, and lending a shoulder to cry on...

One of my customers recently stopped by and asked me to fix a watch band for her...explained what she wanted, then proceeded to cry, and tell me her adult son passed away last week unexpectedly.  The watch is special to her for he had given it to her.   I let her cry, gave her hugs, and reminded her to take care of herself.  Next week, I hope she's feeling a bit better, though I realize it takes a long time to accept the loss.

Now I have a favor to ask, it's simple.  Please keep my friend in your prayers, send postive healing thoughts.
She can really use them now, and we all know how powerful prayer and positive thoughts can be.

Today's Treasure! Monday June 21

Dear Bargain Hunters,
I have a great find for you today from my shop!  I live near an area famous for it's antique shopping, and I've always loved browsing the shops!  I'm especially drawn to glass items, especially the colored sandwich glass,  and cobalt glass has always been a favorite of mine!  For me, these earrings invoke that sense of adventure I feel when I'm trolling around the antique shops,  hoping to find that special treasure that calls to me...

These earrings have lots of sterling silver which accent the dark blue cobalt flowers beautifully!  A fire opal Swarovski crystal provides a splash of color and a bit of sparkle!

Today's Treasure Thursday June 17

Today's Treasure is a fun little bracelet I created using pink silver plated copper wire and Czech crackle glass beads!  This is great for the smaller wrist!  I think this little piece is great for those hot days to come,  with the cool shades of pink, green and blue! 

Concerned about the color on the wire chipping?  No worries!  I beat the heck out of the wire to test it, and with normal wear, should continue to look great!

Waiting for a Sign!

No, I'm not waiting for a sign from God, or anything like that...I'm waiting for a more physical sign!  Like one I ordered!  I've been at the Leesport Farmer's Market for one year now, and a couple weeks ago, the owner approached me about getting a sign to hang in front of the building I'm in.  So, it has been ordered!  I am anxiously awaiting!

Yep, today is Market Wednesday!  The day I spend at the Leesport Farmer's Market is Leesport, PA!  I sit and listen to the banter between the butcher and the deli workers....and quietly giggle.  The candy lady in front of me is always tempting me with cherry slices, I swear she puts them out there just so I drool all day!  (She knows those are my favorite!)  The woman behind me who sells candy making supplies now directs me to put my leg up when I don't have customers (I'm recovering from a bout of cellulitis in my leg).  It's been a great year;  I've made some new friends,  have awesome customers, and love going to work!

It's been a great year!  Will today be the day my sign is here?
